Time Management Woes

February 29th, 2008 by stv

Holy crap, I’m having a hard time trying to find time. I’ve neglected this blog for four weeks. Oh my. The nature of working freelance just isn’t working out for me, especially when you consider that what I’d really like to do is work on my writing with blogTO and gitpop and anyone else who’ll publish me. That and make some music. I haven’t done anything about that in months, and I’ve got one dilly of a plan I’d like to launch someday soon.

It looks like I’ll be doing a fair bit of writing next week anyway. I’ve got media accreditation for Rogers MusicStore Canadian Music Week, and I’ll probably be taking in at least five shows, including Lowest of the Low’s induction into the Indie Hall of Fame. For those of you keeping score at home, Ron Hawkins has told me that it’s a one-shot, two-song deal, so I guess he really wasn’t lying to me when he told me that LOTL was done for good.

I’m also going to doing a piece on the fabulously talented British songwriter David Ford soon, including an interview. I tried taking in his show at the elMo a couple of weeks ago, only to find out I’d just missed his set (honestly, a 9:20 start time - who would’ve expected that?). But he’s hopping over the pond again next week to do a tour with Ireland’s Bell X1 - should be a damn good show. Can’t wait. Looks like I’m going to be losing a lot of sleep real soon.
