Radio Silence Breaking, Eventually

So, I basically look like I haven’t done much if you use this blog to keep score of my personal life. Fortunately for me, that’s not the case. I’ve actually been quite busy trying to sell our house and setting up a new site.
Our house went on the market this week, and we’ve been very busy for most of the month of January de-cluttering, fixing up and cleaning the old shack. It’s been a long hard road, but it should all be behind us this week. It’s been a little disruptive trying to live in a house that doesn’t look like anyone lives in it (let alone people with two kids) and then vacating the premises whenever a real estate agent wants to bring by some prospective buyers (five times in the last 72 hours). At least there’s a big storm hitting Toronto today. All appointments have been re-scheduled until the plows have finally done their arduous task, and it looks like we might actually have our first dinner home since Monday.
So, like I said, I’m building a new site. I’ve really enjoyed writing about music for blogTO for the last couple of months, so I thought I’d see if I could do even more in that field by writing with less of a Toronto-specific focus. The end result is gitpop [dot] com, a new site about independent music news as it happens with record reviews, feature interviews and a little bit of user participation as well.
I hope to launch it shortly after all the real estate hullabaloo blows over, and I’m also going to try to set up an article here to give some advice on setting up your own news site (should you be curious to do such a thing).
