Keep Me Searchin’ for a Hooker with a Heart of Gold

November 29th, 2007 by stv

This morning I stumbled across this odd article about a high-end Chilean escort willing to do whatever it takes to help less fortunate kids. She’s decided to donate 27 hours worth of her services (apparently in one marathon stretch), which equates to about $5,400, according to this related article, with all proceeds going to a charity that helps Santiago’s disadvantaged and disabled children.

If you do the math, she’s pulling in $200 an hour, which is four times what I charge for my professional web services. She must be very good at what she does to justify the expense, unless the economics of prostitution adhere to a different logic than I’m used to. If I want to be able to afford to spend more time with the kids, maybe a career change is in order.

Hollywood’s always trying to sell us on the myth of the hooker with a heart of gold, but here’s one who’s actually put her money where her, um, no wait, there’s no way to end this sentence in a dignified manner, is there? Never mind.
